Now in its third year, AUTO PHOTO Awards returns to celebrate and share the best automotive photography from around the world, creating new opportunities and collaborations, supporting photographers, and connecting creative communities.
Last year AUTO PHOTO reached an audience of over 1.5 million people, introducing photographers to a host of opportunities and experiences through the Awards and supporting them in getting published, receiving motorsport accreditation, and gaining paid commissions.
The Top 100 photographs selected for AUTO PHOTO Awards 2024 will be printed in our collectable AUTO PHOTO book, published by Shutter Hub Editions, and showcased in our Top 100 touring exhibition alongside our category and partner award winners.
Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place images in each category, alongside Highly Commended images across all categories and our Partner Awards. Find full details of all the awards below.
There are five diverse categories to enter your images for: Cars as Art, Motorsport, Scene and Styling, Car Culture, and Innovation.
The Awards
- The Top 100 photographers will be selected for the AUTO PHOTO book, published by Shutter Hub Editions. AUTO PHOTO books are available online and in selected stockists, including Caffeine & Machine and Shreeji News, as well as housed in the archives of the British Library and Cambridge University.
- The Top 100 will be showcased in a touring exhibition at venues including Motorsport UK HQ, Caffeine & Machine, and Cambridge University, and online at autophotoawards.com and shutterhub.org.uk
- The 5 first place category winners will receive a year’s membership of Shutter Hub and a one-to-one portfolio review with Karen Harvey, Creative Director of Shutter Hub and Founder of AUTO PHOTO Awards.
- Additional Highly Commended awards will be awarded.
- People’s Choice Award – Selected from the Top 100 and voted for by the community. The winner of this award will receive a feature opportunity and a Shutter Hub membership.
- Creative Impact Award – Recognising an automotive photographer who has made a significant impact in the community and industry, the winner will receive a bespoke trophy and be invited to join our panel of expert judges for the 2025 AUTO PHOTO Awards.
- WXVE Award – A Highly Commended Award selected by WXVE’s Co-Founder and Production Team.
- Adrian Flux Award – A Highly Commended Award selected by Charlie Roughton, Co-Founder and Director of The Maze Group.
- Duke of Richmond Award – A Highly Commended Award selected by Charles Gordon-Lennox, Founder of Goodwood Festival of Speed.
- Alessia Glaviano Award – A Highly Commended Award selected by Alessia Glaviano, Head of Global Photo Vogue.
- Motorsport UK Award – A Highly Commended Award selected by Hugh Chambers, CEO of Motorsport UK.
Entry Fees:
All entrants can enter a single image for free.
Entrants can submit up to 6 more images for £18, or up to 12 more images for £24. Shutter Hub members receive discounted entry fees of £12 for up to 6 more images and £18 for up to 12 more images.

HOW TO ENTER
Please read the specification information below. Files that do not meet the specification or are not labelled correctly may not be accepted.
Deadline for entries: 05 September 2024 (5pm UK Time)
Please do not leave your entry until the last minute, we cannot accept any late entries.

All entrants can enter a single image for free.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR ENTRIES
All submitted files must be named with photographer’s name and title of work. Files that are not labelled correctly may not be accepted. Correct file naming looks like this: lastname_firstname_title_of_image.jpg
Ensure you select all the categories you would like to enter each image for.
Images can be landscape or portrait format. The format of the photobook will be in portrait orientation.
Submitted images must be jpegs, 2000 pixels wide, 300ppi and no more than 5MB in size. Please submit images in sRGB colour profile but be aware that any images selected for the publication will be converted to CMYK before going to print.
Please be aware that we cannot accept watermarked images.
Images must be suitable for a family audience.
Shutter Hub and AUTO PHOTO Awards reserve the right to not display work.

Photographers retain copyright and ownership of their images.
All photographers will be contacted by the end of November 2024 with updates on whether you have made it through to the next stages of AUTO PHOTO Awards, which will include awards, an exhibition, and the book.

SALE OF WORK
Any enquiries from interested parties with regards to sales or commissions will be noted and passed directly to the photographers.
EXHIBITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Shutter Hub and AUTO PHOTO Awards reserve the right to display, reproduce and publish in any media any entry, without payment, for the purpose of the project and its promotion and publicity. Copyright remains with the originator and each photographer shall be deemed to warrant that they own the entire copyright in the work or that they have permission from the licensee and/or copyright owner/s for the uses and that all necessary model releases and clearances have been obtained. If relevant, insurance of the artist’s work is the responsibility of the artist. Shutter Hub and AUTO PHOTO Awards reserve the right to refuse work that they deem to be inappropriate, offensive, or explicit.
