At Shutter Hub we work with photographers on a diverse range of projects, supporting creativity and career development, and offering innovative opportunities that might not always be available elsewhere.
The ‘Curate for the Community’ project will see the production of a series of online exhibitions, curated by Shutter Hub members and selected guest curators, for the wider photographic community. Curators will choose their own theme for the exhibition, select the images and curate with the support of the Shutter Hub team.
Have you got an idea for an exhibition that you’d like to pursue and produce, but haven’t had the platform, resources or connections to make it a reality? Would you like Shutter Hub’s support in helping you make it happen?
Curators will choose their own theme for the exhibition, create a call for entries, develop a publicly strategy, select the images and curate their own show, with the support of the Shutter Hub team.
This is an opportunity for Shutter Hub members and invited curators as part of our community offering, which includes support and promotion of all members. If you’re not a member yet you can find out more about what we do and join here. We understand that not everyone’s circumstances allow for the annual membership fee and don’t want this to be a barrier to joining, so we have a number of memberships available at no cost in our membership bursary scheme. You can find out more about this here.

This is a long term project and we’d like applicants to put a detailed, strong and well-thought-out idea forward for consideration.
Proposals should be around 1000 words and outline:
- Your idea and why you’d like to pursue it
- Why you think it fits well with Shutter Hub’s ethos
- How it will benefit you and further your career in photography
- How it will benefit the exhibitors and the audience
- How you intend to publicise and promote it
- Supporting links and information
- Any experience you have and how it will help. (It’s okay if you’ve never done this before, just share as much detail as possible so we can tailor our support).
