Shutter Hub Win at Digital Awards

Shutter Hub have won the Gold Award at the recent Cambridgeshire Digital Awards 2015, for the best Lifestyle & Culture Website.

The awards celebrate online achievements and reward digital innovation, talent and hard work, and are described as: THE cream of the county’s digital talent assembled for the first Cambridgeshire Digital Awards. The awards were handed out at a glitzy awards ceremony, with many of Cambridgeshire's top companies represented. The evening was hosted by former BBC journalist Robin Bailey, with warm up comedy from comedian Mark Dolan. Presenting the award, Robin Bailey said:

It’s a terrific website, I looked at it with wonder… A great idea!

After doing a little jig onto the stage, Karen Harvey, Creative Development Director at Shutter Hub, accepted the award. She said:

We work with photographers to promote their work and help them gain wider recognition for the work they do. Because so much of this is visual we place great importance on the way our website looks and functions, so it’s really encouraging to receive this award.

The website is a platform for Shutter Hub members to display their own online portfolios, and also contains a news/blog section, as well as an area for members to find out about new opportunities within the photographic industry (paid work, grants, exhibitions, courses, work experience etc). The end result is the product of careful planning with input from the Shutter Hub community, and designed for Shutter Hub by Tim Jukes.

Shutter Hub would like to thank Cambridgeshire Digital Awards and congratulate all the other nominees who took part. It's clear that Cambridgeshire is fast becoming the epicentre for digital and tech businesses, so it's great to be part of that. You can find a full list of nominees and winners at the website here.
