Join us in Amsterdam for one or two events, where Shutter Hub Creative Director, Karen Harvey, will be talking all things photography – building communities, supporting emerging photographers, and the work Shutter Hub does to develop opportunities and encourage collaboration.

Amsterdam Photo Club are hosting an evening event for (emerging) photographers. With a talk from Shutter Hub Creative Director, Karen Harvey, Q&A session, and mini portfolio reviews, along with the opportunity to network afterwards.

Karen will talk about Shutter Hub, and what the organisation is doing to support photographers at all levels of their careers. Shutter Hub offer photographers opportunities to exhibit, collaborate and get feedback on their work, amongst many other things, and bring a sense of community to the foreground.

A Q&A session with Karen will enable attendees to ask anything they want to know, and this will be followed by a series of mini portfolio reviews (max 3 images per photographer).

Everyone is welcome to attend, and the event will be followed by networking drinks and a chance to chat more.

Amsterdam Photo Club is an active international community and foundation with over 4700 members, organising over 30 events per year. The club aims to offer their members a variety of activities such as courses, workshops, lectures, excursions and photowalks. The Amsterdam Photo Club acts as a hub for photographers to share, learn and inspire each other.

Join us for a relaxed evening discussing current opportunities and challenges for photographers. We’ll talk about everything from competitions, exhibitions and opportunities, to making it work as a self-employed photographer, maintaining a positive approach and how to deal with rejection.

Everyone is welcome, whatever stage of their career, we can all share and learn from each other.

The Paper Fetish community started as a dream of two photobook authors and publishers. They wanted to organise a place for photobooks, coffee, workshops, meetings and events. This dream came true in 2018, when they found a perfect spot near Amsterdam Central Station and opened Paper Fetish.
