Neil Goodwin

My former career in UK public services has influenced my practice in social documentary: projects have included ‘Mustard Tree’, a charity for homelessness; and ‘The Other Blackpool’ about life beyond the promenade of this iconic seaside town, for which I was made an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society.

I also have two ongoing documentary projects: As long as I keep busy, about living alone and loneliness in the UK, comprises photographs of participants and their summary life stories, including feelings about living alone. My work on As long as I keep busy contributed to me being awarded an MA in Photography from Falmouth University. My second ongoing project is Disappearing Life, about abandoned crofts in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland.

My other interests include street and occasional landscape. More details about my projects, my general photography practice and me can be found at my two websites.
