Your Lens, Your Truth

In collaboration with the Sainsbury Centre art museum in Norwich, and to showcase their exhibition The Camera Never Lies: Challenging images through The Incite Project, we’re inviting photographers to be a part of our online exhibition exploring Your Lens, Your Truth.

The Camera Never Lies: Challenging images through The Incite Project joins the Sainsbury Centre’s six-month long investigation into What Is Truth?

The show explores the influence photography has had on shaping – and in some cases misdirecting – the narrative of major global events, featuring more than 100 works by legendary photographers including Don McCullin, Robert Capa and Dorothea Lange, as well as modern practitioners.

Sometimes seen as superior to text, photographs are now a mainstay of how the media and the public understand events such as war, famine, and celebrity.

If a single photograph of an event is taken through one frame, by one photographer and potentially filtered by one news editor, do you believe photographs can tell the whole truth?

Is what we see in the image the truth of the subject being photographed? Perhaps these photographs turn the camera on you to confront truths within your own life. Or maybe you want to incorporate text to give your images more context.

We want to see your interpretations of truth through photography.
