YEARBOOK is Shutter Hub’s annual directory of photographers, open to all photographers, whatever stage they are at in their career.
YEARBOOK 2022 will be:
A group exhibition online promoted to people working within the photography industry – every entrant will have at least one image included.
A printed publication featuring 100 of the photographers, which will be sent to industry specialists and agencies as well as being available to purchase.
A series of YEARBOOK Awards with prizes from Alamy, BenQ, Metro Imaging, Newspaper Club and PhotoShelter.
Have a look at last year’s exhibition here, printed publication here and the 2021 YEARBOOK Awards here.
“Shutter Hub have created a great way for photographers to advertise their work properly – through a curated (and exquisitely presented!) online exhibition and, even better!, in an actual physical printed yearbook. For picture editors, this is going to be a cheat code for looking for photographers in the future.”
– Tom Clazie Flynn, Picture Editor at Unicef UK
We’re asking for entries from all photographers, no matter your background or education. There’s no theme, but we’d encourage you to consider the directory format when submitting and take the opportunity to promote your best work.
Keep in mind that due to the scale of this project each photographer will have one or two images in the online exhibition and those selected for the publication will have a single image printed, but there will be a link from your name to your website or social media (you’ll decide), so viewers will be able to link through to see more of your work.
We will review all entered images but ultimately you should enter images that stand alone to represent your style, skills and the work you’d like to do more of as best they can.
The main exhibition will be online, so it can be easily shared and accessed, in the same format as last year’s exhibition, which you can see here. All valid entries will have at least one image included per person, on our website, which reaches over 20,000 people per month. We’ll promote the show through our newsletter and social media with a combined audience of over 15,000 and to everyone we know who wants to see new photography!
100 images will be selected to be included in a printed publication that will be sent out to industry specialists and agencies. Copies of YEARBOOK 2021 were requested by dozens of photography industry experts including the Creative Director at Tatler, Senior Producer at the V&A, Photo Editor at CNN, Art Director at The Art Newspaper, Photography Manager at Water Aid, Picture Editor at UNICEF. The publication will also be available to buy if you’d like to send it to your own contacts, or for others to buy just to enjoy! You can find out more about last year’s printed publication here.
