Mark Z Alvarez

Mark likes to explore the idea of finding other worlds and other realities through his use of black and white and long exposure photography. Often, his subject matter, and the way he captures it, is chosen to to provide a surreal and other-worldly atmosphere, intended to stimulate the viewer’ imagination.

Many of Mark’s collectors remark that his work provokes a strong emotional response, ranging from a feeling of tranquility through to being disturbed.

Mark is also a management team member of Cambridge Open Studios, a prestigious arts organisation founded nearly 50 years ago and now representing over 500 artists and makers in Cambridgeshire.
