During lockdown MACK ran a competition to take a portrait in the style of Alec Soth. This is my response as a self portrait .

I have been told that my portraits have a relaxed and natural feel. Perhaps they do...

This image was taken for my client Optegra Eye Hospital and is of a wonderful woman called Josie who was 84 when I took the picture.

I was told by a photographer's agent that I need more teenagers in my portfolio, so I am endeavouring to find some to photograph!

This photograph was taken in July, not long after Hair Salons were reopened following the first phase of lockdown in the UK

I photographed this old married couple as part of my social documentary series 4 x 4 x 4. It was shortlisted for Portrait of Britain 2020.

A portrait taken on a cold and frosty morning in an Essex field. This forms part of my social documentary series 4 x 4 x 4.

I was commissioned to photograph 'life at school' for a school prospectus.

I am fascinated by human behaviour, and so I have naturally gravitated to specialising in portraits, but I am also very interested in the idea of a sense of place. With a background in interior and lifestyle photography I am well placed to create strong images with or without humans!

Before lockdown many of my clients came from the Third Sector and homeless charities, so I am short of commissions right now and available for work.

I am currently working on a long term personal project called 4 x 4 x 4 which aims to highlight all that connects us. I write a blog alongside the pictures which offers a more anecdotal response to what I am doing. I enjoy working with words, and was the editor of fLIP magazine, produced by London Independent Photography for two years.

I was short-listed for Portrait of Britain 2020, and have two images in the book which accompanies the competition.
