THE BRIEF
STREET / FORM is about photography’s relationship with the urban landscape and street culture. The juxtaposition of shape and form, the encounters with the unknown, the intimacy with strangers.
Find inspiration in the street: shape / form / colour / contrast / abstract / angles / portrait / cityscape / culture / juxtaposition / pattern / light / shadow / urban / landscape / art.*
We’re inviting you to enter up to 6 images to be printed on punchy and democratic full-bleed newspaper print from Newspaper Club.
*(Please don’t directly photograph and submit images of other people’s street art – but do work with it as the basis for an exploration of how street art interacts with its environment).
HOW TO ENTER
Each entrant can submit up to six images. These can be from a series or individual images. All submitted files must be named with photographers name and title of work. Please read the specification information below.
We’ve subsidised the fee for Shutter Hub members to take part. The conditions of entry allow exhibitors to save on print, framing and courier fees which we hope encourages wider participation in our international exhibitions.
Deadline for entries: 5pm BST on Monday 19 August 2019
Please do not leave your entry until the last minute, we cannot accept any late entries.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR ENTRIES
- All submitted files must be named with photographers name and title of work
e.g. david_hasselhoff_best_photograph_ever_ever - Images can be portrait or landscape format.
- Work that is to be displayed together needs to be all the same format, i.e. all landscape, or all portrait.
- Images must be able to fit within the proportions of 470mm x 700mm. Images that are submitted in the other ratios may be cropped to fit at our discretion.
- CMYK or greyscale (Black and white images should be set to print greyscale).
- Colour profiles – You can use any generic CMYK colour profile. We will manage colour before printing, to reduce ink coverage to an acceptable level for newsprint.

We will contact successful entrants to request larger files for print if they are required.
Remember, newspaper printing is an industrial process designed for speed and economy. The outcomes of this printing process will be different to the usual prints, and colours on screen, that you may be used to. This is part of the beauty of working in this medium.
