We visited Kettle’s Yard on a late summers day, with a small group of Shutter Hub members, for a special Meet Up and private access to the beautiful house (thanks to the amazing team there!)

In the 1920s and 30s, Kettle’s Yard’s owner Jim Ede had been curator at the Tate Gallery in London and thanks to his friendships with artists and other like-minded people, he and his wife Helen gathered a remarkable art collection, including paintings by Ben and Winifred Nicholson, Alfred Wallis, Christopher Wood, David Jones and Joan Miró, as well as sculptures by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, Constantin Brancusi, Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth.

We were guided on a private visit of the house that was once the home of Jim and Helen Ede, soaking in the light, the house, and all of the beautiful art within (and on!) its walls.
