Call for Entries for Alternative Process: A Shutter Hub Exhibition

We are inviting photographers working in alternative photographic mediums to submit work for our Alternative Process exhibition at The Engine Room – a fantastic centre for photography with an emphasis on traditional and historical analogue processes.

Whether you are working using digital photography as a tool, creating pinholes, printing cyanotypes, lifting polaroids, making photograms or any other magical means of creating a photographic image, we’d love to show your work. There is no theme for the content of the image, the emphasis here is on the process. We want Alternative Process to be an eclectic and educational mix of creative approaches to photography.

The Engine Room is situated in the old cotton mill town of Mossley, which lies at the foot of the Pennines near Oldham in Lancashire. The workshop is in Woodend Mill, which was one of the original cotton mills that the town grew up around. The mill lies on the banks of the Huddersfield Canal and the River Tame, and is walking distance from the Peak District National Park
