As part of Shutter Hub OPEN 2026, we’re pleased to be hosting the Shutter Hub OPEN 2026 Curator’s Talk and Tour alongside a series of in-person portfolio reviews at the Alison Richard Building, University of Cambridge, on Thursday 26 March 2026.
We’re starting off the day at 10.30am with the Shutter Hub Portfolio Review – a small number of one-to-one portfolio review sessions with Shutter Hub Founder and Creative Director Karen Harvey MBE.
These focused sessions provide photographers with constructive, practical feedback on their work from an industry professional with extensive experience of curating exhibitions, publishing books, judging international awards and reviewing portfolios across the UK, Europe and North America.
Whether you’re preparing work for exhibition, publication, funding applications or open calls, the portfolio reviews are designed to help you reflect on your practice and consider your next steps. Later in the afternoon, Karen will lead the Shutter Hub OPEN 2026 Curator’s Talk and Tour, an informal walk-through that offers an open conversation about the exhibition’s creative direction, the themes that emerged, and the process of shaping a large-scale photography show.
Karen will share insights into the curatorial process, discussing how works were selected and how scale, sequence, and context influence how we experience images. There’ll be time for questions and conversation throughout.
Guests can also explore the Shutter Hub Pop-Up Photobook Library, featuring a curated collection of 100 photobooks, zines, and independent publications by photographers and publishers from around the world.
