Founded in 2014, by photographer and social entrepreneur Karen Harvey MBE, Shutter Hub supports creative photographers worldwide through community focused opportunities, including exhibitions, portfolio reviews, and photobook publishing.

Shutter Hub is dedicated to creating fair access to photography, making a positive impact and opening up opportunities for everyone. Recognised by many as having democratised photography, Shutter Hub continues to champion the work of photographers, providing a platform for the development of ideas and careers.

In 2025 we removed our paid membership model and made our platform open-access and available at no cost to all photographers. ⁠In 2026, Karen developed a growing team to take the reins and give Shutter Hub leadership and development to its community.
