Salt sticky hair, ice cream smiles, sandcastles and sun-speckled freckles. Small boats, overfishing, plastic pollution and rising sea levels. As climate change imposes more circumstantial realities on us, the sea becomes ever more important in our everyday lives.
We reminisce on childhood holidays and collecting seashells, dog walks on the beach, and the soothing sound of gently lapping waves. But we must remember, although it’s bigger than all of us, vast and powerful, the sea very much needs us to look after it.
100 images. An ode to the ocean, something for the sea.
We are very pleased to announce the release of our next book TO THE SEA! Launching on World Oceans Day, TO THE SEA captures a diverse range of visual storytelling from over 80 international photographers, offering a compelling look at the sea in all its beauty, complexity, and significance.

World Oceans Day is a global event dedicated to raising awareness of the critical role our oceans play in sustaining life on Earth. By releasing TO THE SEA on this important day, we hope to inspire reflection on the ocean’s vast influence, from personal memories to pressing environmental concerns. TO THE SEA not only celebrates the sea’s beauty but also serves as a poignant reminder of the need for its protection.
TO THE SEA brings together a wide spectrum of perspectives, highlighting striking moments and evocative compositions that span themes of nature, human connection, and environmental urgency, inviting its viewers to experience the sea through the lenses of some of today’s most innovative photographers.

An accompanying open-air exhibition, (Return) To The Sea, is currently showing at the Seafront Gallery in Worthing, with the support of Adur & Worthing Trust and Worthing Borough Council, and will remain until the Autumn. This exhibition follows on from the year-long exhibition of TO THE SEA in the French coastal town of St Gilles Croix-de-Vie.

Not only a celebration of the sea’s beauty and a poignant reminder of the need for its protection, TO THE SEA is also intended to promote all the photographers within. We have included a QR code in the book itself so people can link straight through to a directory page where they can connect directly with each photographer.
