The Shutter Hub OPEN 23/24 will bring together international photographers in a selected exhibition and promote the future of photography through diverse and creative imagery… and we want you to be part of it.

Under the cloak of the covid restrictions we managed to successfully deliver the Shutter Hub Open 20/21 in London, but now we’re ready to hit some walls again, on a bigger scale, with a jam-packed, signature-style Shutter Hub exhibition.

From 27 November 2023 to 02 February 2024, we’re taking over four floors of the ARB building at Cambridge University (where we’ve shown many other awesome Shutter Hub exhibitions, including POSTCARDS FROM EUROPE and EVERYTHING I EVER LEARNT) transforming the space and covering the walls.

We’ve teamed up with our favourite newspaper print partners, Newspaper Club, to produce this exhibition and we’ll fill the space with 100s of fabulous images.

Our OPEN exhibition is open to everyone (it’s in the name!) Enter the OPEN and have the chance to exhibit the work that you think best promotes you and your practice. The theme is ‘Open’, and we mean that – we want to see a diverse selection of styles and subjects and bring them together in an exhibition like no other.

As always there’ll be an award for the ‘Best in Show’, where viewers will get to vote for their favourite photographs from the exhibition. This is much more about audience participation that it is about big prizes, but it’s a fun and engaging way to involve more people in responding to photography.

In the run up to the exhibition we’ll also be sharing submitted images throughout the call for entries on our social media and blog, so it’s worth entering as soon as you’re ready and making the most of it.

We’ll be launching the exhibition on 10 December 2023 and alongside our ‘private view’ get-together, we’ll be hosting a mini Book & Zine Fair too! (Interested in showcasing your publications? Register your interest here before 01 October 2023)

Members: £15 (up to 6 images)
Non-members: £28 (up to 6 images)

Once you’ve entered there are no further fees to take part – if your work is selected we’ll print, promote, deliver and install everything for you. These conditions of entry allow exhibitors to save on print, framing and courier fees which we hope encourages wider participation in our international exhibitions.
