As a juror for this year’s Photobook Award, Shutter Hub Founder and Creative Director Karen Harvey MBE will be attending the Encontros da Imagem International Photography and Visual Arts Festival in Braga between 19-21 September and welcomes conversations and connections with photographers, so if you’ll be there and would like to meet, let us know!

Encontros da Imagem is a non-profit cultural association that promotes annually an International Photography and Visual Arts Festival in the city of Braga, Portugal. The festival celebrates classic and contemporary photography and visual arts by showcasing emerging and established artists. The festival has developed an eclectic programme – numerous artists, national and international, will be shown in several public and private spaces (historical and monumental buildings, museums, galleries and others).

Encontros da Imagem is a cultural photographic reference in Portugal, and has reached a prominent position in the international panorama, being one of the oldest photography festivals in Europe.

The 35th edition of the Festival runs 18 September – 02 November 2025 in Braga, Barcelos, Guimarães, Vila Verde, Porto, and Avintes (Vila Nova de Gaia).
