EVENT: A talk by the award winning photography charity PhotoVoice as part of the Shutter Hub OPEN 2016:
WHEN: Tuesday 12 July 2016, 7PM-9.30PM
WHERE: Hot Numbers Coffee, Gwydir St, Cambridge, CB1 2LJ (Find full venue details at www.hotnumberscoffee.co.uk)

Tom Elkins, (CEO) and Becky Warnock (Projects Manager) of PhotoVoice will present their latest project – MAMPU, working with Indonesian Women affected by migrant work. The work will act as a springboard into a wider conversation about the ethics of NGO imagery and representation and the possibilities of photography for wider social change.
Working in partnerships with other charities, NGOs and community organisations, PhotoVoice designs and delivers tailor-made participatory photography, digital storytelling and self-advocacy projects for socially excluded groups. Their pioneering and award winning approach brings together arts, media, development, campaigning, and social change to deliver projects that enable voice, build skills, deliver advocacy and work towards sustainable change.
Come along and find out about this valuable work and how you can get involved.
In order to make this evening affordable to everyone, we are accepting voluntary donations to support the event. Please show your support if possible. This event is open to all.
This is just one of many photography events taking place as part of the Shutter Hub OPEN 2016, including this year’s exhibition, talks, a Meet Up, and a Portfolio Review day! See here for the full programme.
