Photo from the series "My London wanderings". The intention was to take a photo of the tin tub containing floating blooms, a flower display of the exclusive florist next to this boutique. Only after I took the photo I realised that within the frame was the bored sales assistant taking a selfie and, horror of horrors, because of a mirror on the side of the counter and the shopwindow glass, I managed to take a double selfie.

Back to street photography after many years. This photo was taken with my mobile phone.

Paola De Giovanni

Drawn to photography from an early age, I studied analogue and digital photography in Florence and Venice. I completed my education at the London College of Fashion-The University of The Arts, MA-Fashion Studies.

My visual research is a voyage of discovery, enchantment and experimentation. I document what I define the beautiful decadent and the everyday life: I am interested in portraying people and places that often pass unnoticed in this fast paced society.

I am a visual documentary historian, I capture the emotion.
