James Bellorini
I am an English/Italian photographer & lens-based artist currently based in Brighton (UK). I work with photography and other lens-based mediums, audio, and elements of live performance.
As an emerging practitioner my self-initiated projects explore themes of heritage & belonging through portraiture, collage and montage, still-lives, and aspects of the land & nature. I frequently use food, heirlooms, and found objects as cultural symbols and examples of personal storytelling.
I also work commercially & editorially with brands, marketing teams, and design agencies including The Royal Opera House, Penguin/Random House, Charleston Trust, The Grand Brighton, Entertaining TV, Glyndebourne etc.
I hold a Master of Arts (MA) Degree in Photography from Falmouth University. In 2021 extracts from my MA project MANNA were published in the contemporary art magazine AIN’T-BAD and were also selected by curators from New Art Exchange & Bloomberg for Source Photography Magazine’s graduate showcase. My work has been exhibited at HIPFest, the V&A, Home (Manchester), and Brighton Fringe.
