Photographer Dan Rubin shoots the majority of his personal and commercial work on film, combining colour, B&W, and various formats from 35mm to 120 and instant film.
In this 2-day workshop, he’ll explain his approach to modern film photography, discuss finding and creating a consistent look for your work, and review each attendees personal experiences and goals when shooting film. He’ll also discuss how to incorporate film into a digital workflow, including choosing and working with a professional lab, managing and editing scans in post production, and output for screen and print.
The Leica Akademie analogue workshop series are run in partnership with Kodak Camera Club. Since 1920, the Kodak Camera Club’s mission has been to encourage and develop interest among its members in imaging as an art by fostering a community of photography and cinematography enthusiasts with a desire to learn, experience, and share.
Leica cameras and a limited number of medium format cameras will be available to loan for the workshop (see Participant Notes for details). Cameras of the participants’ choice are welcome. Colour and B&W film will be provided by Kodak.
