Vacancy: Museum Photographer, University of Oxford – Ashmolean Museum

The role of Photographer presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate individual to join the Ashmolean team to engage with a number of photographic scenarios: from photography of artworks from its world-class collection, to documenting events, private views, online retail products and other Museum activities. There will also be a requirement to undertake regular photography work for the Pitt Rivers Museum and requests to support occasional work for other GLAM museums.

The successful candidate will be based primarily in the Ashmolean Museum’s Photographic Studio (but may from time to time, be required to work offsite, particularly at the Pitt Rivers Museum), and will receive training in object handling, imaging processes and image standards.

This is a full-time permanent post. Applications for this vacancy should be made online. Only applications received online before 12:00 midday (GMT/BST) on Wednesday 9 December 2020 can be considered. You will be required to upload a supporting statement and portfolios (max. 20 images) as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria and explain how you meet each one. CVs alone will not be considered.
