Vacancy: Gallery Assistant – The Perimeter

Paid (£20k-25k pro rata)

The Perimeter, a private art collection in Bloomsbury, is looking for an enthusiastic and efficient individual to join our team.

The ideal candidate would have a background in art or graphic design, whether that be in higher education (BA/MA in arts is desirable) or work experience in a gallery or institution. Under normal circumstances, the role includes greeting members of the public visitors and providing tours of our collection exhibitions so a passion for contemporary art and a polite, welcoming demeanour are essential.

We are a small team who promote a positive working environment and are hands-on in all aspects of running The Perimeter. In addition to providing tours to the public, our assistant can expect to undertake a range of tasks from general office duties, creating interesting and eye-catching presentations to working on our digital content.

Additional skills include: General office duties and administration (Microsoft Office, stock-checking, answering the phone, responding to general enquiries), front of house (liaising with visitors in person and over the phone), graphic design skills to create impressive, informative newsletters and presentations, digital content creation and social media planning- Competent at Photoshop and Lightroom*, a keen and adept researcher, close attention to detail, a self-motivator with plenty of initiative, knowledge of SketchUp is a bonus*

*We have access to online courses that can enhance and grow understanding of these programmes but a base knowledge is desirable.
Salary: £90pd (10am-6pm, 1 hour paid lunch)

Schedule: On average, there will be one day of work a week on a rolling basis but this may fluctuate depending on our exhibition schedule.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to add to their current work or study schedule.
