Vacancy: Gallery Assistant (Baltic Crew)

£8.32 per hour

Variety of fixed hour contracts available from 16 hours per week to 40 hours per week

We are recruiting for Gallery Assistants (Baltic Crew) who can combine an appreciation of contemporary art with the skills, passion and enthusiasm to communicate effectively with our audiences. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills gained through working with the public in a front-line service position and enjoy working in a team.

Please note: All positions involve working on a rota basis and you must be available to work some evenings and weekends. We have a variety of contracts available including full time and part time. The contracts available will be split into 8 hour working days to reflect Baltic’s hours of operation. Applicants should indicate any preferences in terms of desired weekly working hours on their application i.e. 16, 24, 32 or 40 hours per week.

The interview process will consist of two parts, if selected for interview you will be invited in for a welcome morning with a tour and task on either the 15 or 17 October. If you are successful at this first stage you will then be invited back for a short interview the following week. Baltic will also be holding a drop-in event to offer advice and insight into what it’s like to be part of our Baltic Crew team. This will be held on Tuesday 24 September 2019 between 10.00 and 12.00pm, in the Library on Level 2.

Successful candidates will be required to attend a paid 3-day induction where full training will be provided. Baltic is working towards achieving diversity and welcomes applications from all members of the community. Must have eligibility to work in the UK.
