Description: The National Portrait Gallery houses a unique collection of all forms of portraiture of the people who have made or are currently contributing to British history and culture; the collection is the most comprehensive of its kind in the world. With around 2 million visitors each year prior to temporary closure for theInspiring Peopleproject and a strong national and international presence through touring exhibitions and special projects, the Gallery is one of the country’s most important and popular galleries.

Fundraising Manager, Grants and Legacy Giving£25,600 per annum (full time equivalent of £32,000 per annum), Part Time, 32 hours/ 4 days per week, Fixed Term Contract for 22 months.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced fundraiser to join the Grants and Legacy Giving Team at the National Portrait Gallery. The Fundraising Manager will play a key role in fundraising for core Gallery activities as well as its transformative capital appeal,Inspiring People.  Theywill identify new prospects and make high quality applications to a wide range of trusts and foundations in addition to helping deliver a strong programme of legacy fundraising and legacy pledger stewardship.

The successful candidate will possess a demonstrable track record of soliciting donations from trusts, foundations and statutory funders.  They will be a strong communicator with the ability to create compelling cases for support in the form of both written proposals and face-to-face meetings. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility and good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders are also essential, as is proficiency in MS Office applications and CRM databases.
