Description: The Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art is seeking to recruit a Digital Producer while the permanent incumbent is on parental leave. This role supports all of the Centre’s initiatives by producing and maintaining digital resources for the study of British art and architecture. The post holder will play a key role in helping to raise the profile and awareness of the organisation, with particular responsibility for coordinating the production and management of digital content in a variety of media.
Reporting to the Centre’s Digital Manager, you will work as part of a small team on the design and maintenance of the Centre’s online presence in order to raise the impact and profile of our activities. Key responsibilities will include day-to-day management of the Centre’s content management system (CMS) and quality control of the work of external developers. The role also covers the identification and troubleshooting of user experience issues and training of staff in the use of the CMS. The post holder will produce and maintain thorough documentation of their processes and will work towards establishing policies to improve efficiency, consistency, and accessibility.
While in post you will project manage a web accessibility audit of the Centre’s online journal British Art Studies, and will work with the journal’s editorial team to ensure that its content meets the recommendations outlined by the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). You will also maintain and build upon the Centre’s digital advertising strategy, with a particular focus on audience broadening.
Salary will be in the range of £30,000–£32,000 per year, depending on experience. This post is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months. The post is full time, 35 hours per week.
