Creative Learning seeks a creative practitioner with experience of working with children & families to lead Geronimo outdoor creative play sessions with families in collaboration with Family Learning.
The Creative Practitioner will work with a member of the Family Learning team who has a background in Forest Schools, to devise and deliver Geronimo sessions. This work will take place outdoors in a non-public city woodland space. The staff to family ratio will be 2 staff: 2 families per session with social distancing in place.
This programme of workshops will explore, through the arts, an open ended and fluid approach to play, creativity and risk. The emphasis will be on outdoor learning approaches. Children will be encouraged to make their own creative decisions, facilitated by the artist. Parents and carers will learn how to engage with, and support, this process and will gain confidence in their own creative potential with regards to their children’s development and learning. This will present the opportunity for families to experience quality time out together.
This work is to cover 6 weeks from week beginning 29th June to week beginning 3rd August. 5 sessions per week over 2.5 days; Monday, Tuesday (am/pm) and Thursday morning. A session will run for 2 hours with a focused hour of activity within this. Families will return three times each and we shall work with 10 families in the first 3 weeks and a further 10 families in the second 3 weeks.
The fee for the Lead Creative Practitioner for 15 days is £3,000.00
