Vacancy: 20th Century Researcher – Clarendon Fine Art

1st September 2020, London, Part time , Paid (£20k-25k pro rata).

Clarendon Fine Art is seeking a part-time 20th Century Art Researcher/Copy-Writer to assist the Head of Twentieth Century with research and creating resources for newly acquired art works. Working hours will vary between 5-20 hours a week and research will be undertaken remotely, and the candidate will need to make use of the National Art Library or British Library.

Duties: Utilising external libraries and archives to conduct high-level, extensive research into 20th century art works from the Clarendon Fine Art portfolio, scanning and compiling catalogue entries for art works, writing in depth factsheets on limited edition prints, lithographs, etchings, drawings and paintings by 20th century artists, including Picasso, Miro, Dali, Moore, Hockney, Matisse, Chagall, Riley, and others, researching comparable pricing for 20th century art works and assisting the 20th Century Specialist on an ad-hoc basis with art market research.

Essential Criteria: A degree in History of Art, a broad and in-depth knowledge of 20th century art history, excellent written English and proofreading skills and have the right to work in the UK.
