Asma Khan moved to Cambridge from Calcutta in 1991. After completing her law degree, Khan went on to do a PhD in British Constitutional Law at King’s College London. Cooking, however, was her passion and Khan registered for a food business, which began life as a supper club in her home in Kensington in 2012. In 2015, she opened a pop-up in Soho to much acclaim, and the restaurant Darjeeling Express opened its doors in 2017. Asma’s Indian Kitchen, her debut cookbook, was published by Pavilion in 2018. Khan is the first British chef to feature in Netflix Emmy nominated Chef’s Table.
