FREE TUTORIALS: LIoP Launch Video Tutorials on Photography and Image Editing Basics

Shutter Hub created an Annual Sponsorship Programme to invite businesses to get involved with the work we do, and offer support and exchange. Our goal is to develop networks, strengthen connections, provide relevant information, and make more good things happen! Building these connections not only helps with funding, but enables us to widen our horizons and bring people together from all sections of the industry for a positive impact.

We’ve been working with LIoP for some time now (we’ve shared LIoP director Holger Pooten’s Industry Advice on Finding your Brand, invited him to talk at our Professional Development Day last year, and to give Shutter Hub Surgeries that have been really well received, amongst other things!) When we heard that LIoP had created some free online tutorials for photography students during the lockdown we thought this would be another great thing from LIoP to share.

If you don’t know LIoP already, they’re London’s independent photography school. Based in Shoreditch, they run short courses with the goal of bringing photographers on a journey from beginner to professional. LIoP was founded by Holger Pooten, who has 20 years of experience as a professional photographer with worldwide agent representation,  his aim was to set up a school that prepares students for the challenges of the industry and allows them to walk away with their own signature brand, printed portfolio and website.

LIoP have created some free step-by-step video tutorials for those learning about photography and image editing to access and learn more. So far they’ve shared six tutorials, all led by Holger Pooten, Director of LIoP. The videos all last between 6 and 12 minutes, and are all available on the LIoP website here.

The topics covered are: Best camera settings for flash photography, Best export settings for Lightroom, Colour grading in Lightroom, Compositing in Photoshop, Great DIY studio setup, and How to find your style.

The team at LIoP want to expand the tutorials they offer, and would love to hear from you if you have any topics you’d like to see them offer. You can drop them an email here:
