extra{ordinary} Photographs of Britain by The Caravan Gallery, Touring Exhibition

With photographs made over fifteen years, in hundreds of locations in the UK, extra{ordinary} offers an insight into the reality and surreality of everyday life in 21st century Britain, seeking out and celebrating the curious, unusual and absurd.

The Caravan Gallery (an actual caravan) is a touring exhibition which is a collaboration between artists and photographers Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale. They say:

Since setting up in 2000 we have travelled thousands of miles and exhibited in hundreds of locations in the UK and abroad, sharing images from our ever expanding photographic archive with the most diverse audience imaginable. Equally at home exhibiting in a shopping centre car park or prestigious arts venue, we welcome visitors to respond to our observations of their locality.

The exhibition will be at the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, Sunderland until 1 May 2015. It will then move to Impressions Gallery from 30 May 2015, and on to further venues. You can find full details of the tour here.

There will be an exhibition opening and book signing at Impressions Gallery, Centenary Square Bradford BD1 1SD on Saturday 30 May 2015, 2pm to 4pm
 (free event).
