Edinburgh College BA at Free Range

We previously featured the Exposed 15 exhibition, a collection of work by students on the Edinburgh College BA in Professional Photography course. Now a selection of works from that group will also be exhibiting at Free Range, from 18th-22nd June 2015.

Since its inception in 2001, Free Range has become the number one platform and launch pad for the next crop of creatives to showcase their work to both public and industry. Attracting visitor numbers to rival the largest art events, the annual Free Range exhibitions present the work of thousands of art, design students in several distinct categories including: fashion, art, graphics, photography and interior design.

Photographers showing work will include Shutter Hub members Anneleen Lindsay (a finalist in the AOP Student Awards a winnder of the Ideas Tap / British Council 'Shakespeare Lives in Photography' competition ) and Eleni Laparidou (whose 'Bell Bearers' project is featured in this month's issue of the BJP). Other participants whose work is shown above include Kinga Kocimska (who won Student of the Year in the recent BIPP Scotland 2015 regional awards.) and Ross Parker (a finalist in both the AOP Awards and the AOP Student Awards, and winner of 1st and 3rd place in the BIPP Scotland Student Awards in the Photojournalism category and 3rd place in the Social / Portraiture category.)

The show at Free Range is currently being trailed with a playful, humorous poster with a 'Game of Tones' theme by Douglas McCaffrey (image above), who is also showing his work.
