The AUTO PHOTO Awards are back! Celebrating, promoting and sharing the best automotive photography from around the world, creating new opportunities and collaborations, supporting photographers, and connecting creative communities.
Reaching an annual audience of over 1.8 million people, AUTO PHOTO introduces photographers to a host of opportunities and experiences through the Awards and supports them in getting published, receiving motorsport accreditation, and gaining paid commissions.
The Top 100 photographs selected for AUTO PHOTO Awards 2025 will be printed in our collectable AUTO PHOTO book, published by Shutter Hub Editions, and showcased in our Top 100 touring exhibition alongside our category and partner award winners.
Over 25 individual awards will be given – Winners and Highly Commended in each of our five categories, one winner for each of our Partner Awards, and our People’s Choice Award. Find full details of all the awards below.
The five categories to enter in 2025 are: Cars as Art, Motorsport, Scene and Styling, Innovation, and Auto Portrait.
The Awards
- The Top 100 photographs (including the category winners and highly commended, as well as partners awards) will be selected for the AUTO PHOTO book, published by Shutter Hub Editions. AUTO PHOTO books are available online and in selected stockists, as well as housed in archives and institutions around the world.
- The Top 100 photographs (including the category winners and highly commended, as well as partners awards) will be showcased in a touring exhibition, screening at venues across the UK, and online at autophotoawards.com and shutterhub.org.uk.
- Winners and Highly Commended awardees will receive a personalised digital certificate and have their images showcased across AUTO PHOTO social channels.
- People’s Choice Award – Selected from the Top 100 and voted for by the community. The winner of this award will receive a feature opportunity on the AUTO PHOTO website, social media and newsletter.
- Creative Impact Award – Recognising an automotive photographer who has made a significant impact in the community and industry, the winner will receive a bespoke trophy and be invited to join our panel of expert judges for the 2026 AUTO PHOTO Awards.
- WXVE Award – Selected by the WXVE Production Team.
- Adrian Flux Award – Selected by Charlie Roughton, Co-Founder and Director of The Maze Group.
- Duke of Richmond Award – Selected by Charles Gordon-Lennox, Founder of Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed.
- Alessia Glaviano Award – Selected by Alessia Glaviano, Head of Global Photo Vogue.
- Motorsport UK Award – Selected by Hugh Chambers, CEO of Motorsport UK.
Entry Fees:
This call for entries is ‘pay what you can’, with a minimum donation of £25. We ask you to make a donation based on your means – if you are able to donate more than the minimum entry fee, please do. The AUTO PHOTO platform is intended as a long-term professional showcase for the photographers involved, promoting your work to industry connections through exhibitions, publications, and more. Please help support the work we do by sharing this opportunity with other photographers too.
Each photographer can submit 10 images in their entry, and enter as many times as they’d like.
We receive no external grants or funding, but we’re determined to do what we can to keep photography open to all. In order to make this opportunity as accessible as possible for all photographers, we are offering a number of free image submissions to those experiencing difficult situations including homelessness, displacement, poverty and social injustices. To be considered, please send us an email before entering your submission, detailing why you should receive a free submission.

Please read the specification information below. Files that do not meet the specification or are not labelled correctly may not be accepted.

Please do not leave your entry until the last minute, we cannot accept any late entries.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR ENTRIES
All submitted files must be named with photographer’s name and title of work. Files that are not labelled correctly may not be accepted. Correct file naming looks like this: lastname_firstname_title_of_image.jpg
Ensure you select all the categories you would like to enter each image for.
Images can be landscape or portrait format. The format of the photobook will be in portrait orientation.
Submitted images must be jpegs, 2000 pixels wide, 300ppi and no more than 5MB in size. Please submit images in sRGB colour profile but be aware that any images selected for the publication will be converted to CMYK before going to print.
Please be aware that we cannot accept watermarked images.
Images must be suitable for a family audience.
Shutter Hub and AUTO PHOTO Awards reserve the right to not display work.

Photographers retain copyright and ownership of their images.
All photographers will be contacted by the end of November 2025 with updates on whether you have made it through to the next stages of AUTO PHOTO Awards, which will include the awards, book, and touring exhibition.

SALE OF WORK
Any enquiries from interested parties with regards to sales or commissions will be noted and passed directly to the photographers.
EXHIBITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Shutter Hub and AUTO PHOTO Awards reserve the right to display, reproduce and publish in any media any entry, without payment, for the purpose of the project and its promotion and publicity. Copyright remains with the originator and each photographer shall be deemed to warrant that they own the entire copyright in the work or that they have permission from the licensee and/or copyright owner/s for the uses and that all necessary model releases and clearances have been obtained. If relevant, insurance of the artist’s work is the responsibility of the artist. Shutter Hub and AUTO PHOTO Awards reserve the right to refuse work that they deem to be inappropriate, offensive, or explicit.
