Shutter Hub was pleased to partner with the PHOTOMASTERS event this year, as part of Photoblock at The Old Truman Brewery. Following on from the exhibition we've been interested to learn about the next steps taken by the exhibitors, not least Shutter Hub member Sian Davey who exhibited at PHOTOMASTERS and currently has her work on show at the Taylor Wessing exhibition at The National Portrait Gallery.

Nathan Vidler on the other hand is taking his work internationally and is due to open an exhibition of his street photography, Happy Go Lucky, today in Phnom Penh. He explains about the series:

As an Englishman living in Hong Kong I was struck by Lan Kwai Fong, how it seemed to have organically grown from the hybrid of British and Chinese culture – a place where locals and tourists alike go to unwind. It is the hive of activity that captivated me and that relates the exploration of this area to my photographic work. Work which explores the themes of social relationships with a particular focus on the intimacies of interaction, an investigation into the psychological and metaphysical barriers which seem to be placed between each of us; either by ourselves or societies expectations.

Nathan will return to the UK in time for his MA show at the University of Plymouth in January. The exhibition will open today (23 November 2014) and continue for a month at Meta House, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
